Applicants applying through the SINP
Farm Owner/Operator category can be accompanied by immediate
family members or an existing farm employee to work on the
Saskatchewan farm. Applications under the Family or Farm
Employee Category will be assessed in conjunction with the
SINP Farm Owner/Operator application and will include an
evaluation of capacity of the Saskatchewan farm to provide
income to an additional family member or employee.
Farm owner/operators who have been previously nominated under
the SINP and are living in Saskatchewan can bring an immediate
family member to work on the Saskatchewan farm. The farm owner/operator
will be required to show that the farm operation has capacity
to provide income to an additional fulltime permanent employee.
SINP Farm Owner/Operators wishing to hire under this category
must:
- Demonstrate their Saskatchewan farm has the ability to
provide income to the additional family member or employee;
and
- Confirm that an offer of permanent fulltime employment
has been made to the applicant.
Applicants in this category must meet the following criteria:
- Be an immediate family member to a SINP Farm Owner/Operator
or be a current employee to a SINP Farm Owner/Operator applicant;
and
- Have farming knowledge and experience.
APPLYING
The family or farm employee category applicant must submit
the following SINP application package to the Saskatchewan
Immigration Branch. This package must include the original
SINP form, the original Government of Canada forms, and photocopies
of supporting documents detailed below. Please note only
the original Government of Canada forms will be returned.

Additional documents:
- Birth certificate (for applicant and immediate family-members)
that list both parents, marriage certificate, divorce, custody
and maintenance documents, as applicable.
- Verification of farm experience and knowledge.
- Police report(s) if the applicant or any family member
over the age of 18 has committed an offence or been convicted
of a crime; please provide a copy of a police report from
the country or countries where the offence(s) occurred. In
addition to the police report, submit any proof of rehabilitation,
if applicable.
- Valid passport with expiry date no less than two years
hence. Each individual family member must obtain a personal
passport.
From the Farmer Owner/Operator, we require:
Where documents are in a language other than English, the
applicant must submit a photocopy of the original document
AND a photocopy of the English translation. Translators can
be any person other than a family member of the applicant or
spouse and must not work for a paid consultant or representative
who is preparing the application. The applicant must also supply
an affidavit from the translator describing their translation
ability. Please be aware that some Canadian immigration visa
offices may require that the translator is certified by a regulatory
body as a translator. It is the responsibility of the applicant
to ensure all federal requirements are met with respect to
translations.
