Centennial Merit Scholarships
This scholarship targets top students
from Saskatchewan high schools and enhances the ability of
institutions to attract and retain high-caliber students.
The funding is paid to institutions that are responsible
for its administration.

Queen Elizabeth II Centennial Aboriginal
Scholarship
The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh
announced this scholarship during their Centennial visit
to Saskatchewan in May 2005. The $20,000 scholarship is to
be awarded to First Nations/Métis students graduating
from the First Nations University of Canada (FNUC) who are
pursuing graduate studies in any field at any accredited
university in Saskatchewan. The scholarship is to be awarded
annually on the basis of academic excellence to one student
or split between equally deserving candidates.

- Reference letter - please complete the applicant section, save and forward electronically or by regular mail to your reference. Your reference must forward the completed reference letter to the appropriate Adjudicating Committee.

Parliamentary Studies
The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh announced a $10,000 scholarship
during their 1987 visit to Saskatchewan . During their May
2005 visit, the amount of this scholarship was increased to
$20,000. The scholarship is to be awarded annually for graduate
or post-graduate study of Saskatchewan politics and government
at either of Saskatchewan's universities on the basis of academic
excellence. The scholarship amount will be awarded to one student
or split between equally deserving candidates.

D.R. Simmons Memorial Scholarships
There are two scholarships of $500
available annually to graduating Grade 12 Saskatchewan students
of First Nations or Métis ancestry who are continuing
studies at the post-secondary level.
Applications are available
from the Student Financial Assistance Branch or print application here. Deadline for
application is October 15.

Dickson Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is available annually to a graduating
Grade 12 Saskatchewan student of black ancestry. If no award
is made during one year, two awards may be made during the
following year.

30.
Doreen
Kronick Matching Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is available in Canada each year to recognize
the scholastic achievement of a full or part-time graduate
student studying in an area that will enable the student to
help individuals with learning disabilities. The department
will award an additional $500 if the recipient is a Saskatchewan
resident attending a Saskatchewan university.
