Introduction Last modified: December 18, 2006
Describes Forest Land Use Planning and how it is implemented in Saskatchewan.

Amisk-Atik Land Use Plan (PDF) Last modified: October 26, 2001
The Amisk-Atik Integrated Forest Land Use Plan will cover nearly 4.4 million hectares in northeast Saskatchewan, stretching from Amisk Lake in the south to Reindeer Lake in the north. A Background Document was used as a basis for discussion, and in the preparation of a Draft Integrated Forest Land Use Plan and Appendices. An Independent Review of the plan has been completed.

Fort a la Corne - Land Use Plan Last modified: December 18, 2006
An Integrated Forest Land Use Plan is being prepared for the Fort a la Corne Provincial Forest. The plan will be based on ecosystem management principles such as sustainability and maintaining biodiversity.

Nisbet Provincial Forest - Integrated Forest Land Use Plan Last modified: December 18, 2006

An integrated forest land use plan is being developed for the Nisbet Provincial Forest.  The plan area covers approximately 80,000 hectares of public forested land in central Saskatchewan.

The integrated forest land use plan considers the health of the forest ecosystem as primary, and then considers all other forest values - both economic and non-economic.

A public advisory committee has been working with Saskatchewan Environment to develop appropriate forest management strategies.  The meetings will be on hold after October 2005, while the plan is being drafted.  Meetings with the advisory committee are expected to continue in the summer of 2006, with a target completion date for the plan in 2007.

North Central Planning Area Last modified: December 18, 2006
The North-Central Planning Area covers 3,452,000 hectares, reaching to the Wapawekka Hills in the southeast, Besnard Lake in the southwest, Wathaman Lake in the northeast and close to Key Lake Mine in the northwest.  A Background Document (PDF), completed in September 2001, provides an overview of the area and a basis for discussion. North Central Planning Region Map(PDF), Ecoregions and Landscape Areas Map(PDF) and Fur Conservation Blocks Map(PDF).

Pasquia Forest Land Use Plan Last modified: December 18, 2006
The Pasquia/Porcupine Integrated Forest Land Use Plan covers nearly 20,000 square kilometers. This includes the Porcupine Forest, the Pasquia Hills and part of the Cumberland House area. This plan is a framework for resource management and land use decision-making within the planning area. Two plan reviews have been completed and are available in PDF format:   Annual Review - June, 2000(PDF) and Annual Review 2001-02(PDF). The full text of The Pasquia/Porcupine Integrated Forest Land Use Plan can be downloaded in PDF format. Two supporting documents are also available: Background for Plan Development gives an overview about what is known about the area; the Appendices(PDF) include supporting documents that are referenced within the plan.

Pinehouse-Dipper Background Document (PDF) Last modified: October 26, 2001
The Pinehouse-Dipper Planning Area is located on the northwestern side of the Northern Provincial Forest near the community of Beauval . The Planning Area contains the communities of Patuanak and Pinehouse, while Ile-a-la-Crosse and Beauval are located outside the southwestern boundaries. The communities of Buffalo Narrows, Dillon, and Turnor Lake are located outside of the planning area to the west, and Green Lake to the south, but all have interests within the landbase.
