Saskatchewan Industry and Resources (SIR) co-ordinates, develops, promotes and implements policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan that strengthen and diversify the Saskatchewan economy. SIR is the lead provincial government agency to spur economic growth and development of the province's resource sector, but is not the only department involved in economic development. The department has a twofold role: to offer direct programs and services to individuals and businesses, and to play a role in co-ordinating economic development activities among other departments and agencies.
