About Us

The International Academic Relations Division (acronym ACE) at Foreign Affairs Canada seeks to enhances the understanding and awareness of Canada in other countries, as well as promote the international dimension of education to Canadians. The division also oversees foreign policy positions and priorities relating to all matters of international education.

These goals are mainly achieved through developing Canadian Studies programs overseas, promoting scholarships and exchange programs, and working in close collaboration with the Council of Minister of Education [Canada]. ACE also works at the bilateral and multilateral level, in particular with organizations such as APEC, the Commonwealth, OAS, the OECD and UNESCO, as well as at forums such as the Summit of the Americas and the G8.
