Minds Eye Pictures, Regina, Saskatchewan

www.mindseyepictures.com

Minds Eye Pictures is Western Canada's largest privately-owned production, post-production and distribution entity. It is also a powerful contender in the worldwide motion picture marketplace. The Regina-based company has co-produced award-winning films and television series with partners from Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland and the United States.

During the Team Canada 2002 trade mission to Germany, the company signed an agreement with H5B5 Media AG of Munich valued at $35 million, of which $17.5 million is Canadian content, to produce 22 episodes of the TV series Ice Planet.

Minds Eye's productions have been translated into a dozen languages and sold in more than 100 countries. Some of the most popular are MythQuest, a live-action series co-produced with VIF International Film and TiMe Filmproduktion of Pottsdam, Germany; The Lost Daughter, a four-hour television miniseries co-produced with Condor Films (now C-FILMS of Switzerland); and Incredible Story Studio, the Gemini Award-winning dramatic series seen in 450 million households worldwide, in which children's stories from around the globe are made into movies. In its final season, thousands of children in Germany, France and the United Kingdom contributed stories as potential teleplays. Two new series are currently being developed in collaboration with German production companies.

Minds Eye International--the company's distribution arm--attracts new programs from independent producers across Canada and worldwide. Principals of the company travel extensively, attending major international film festivals, including Cannes and Berlin, and visiting clients in London, Munich, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Toronto and Washington.

Since its establishment in 1986, Minds Eye Pictures--with offices in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and soon, in Winnipeg--has been a major contributor to a thriving production industry in Saskatchewan and across Western Canada.
