Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America

The SPP is an initiative to improve the safety, enhance the prosperity and increase the quality of life of the citizens of Canada, the United States and Mexico. This partnership supports the three countries working together in areas as diverse as transportation, the environment and public health.

Protecting Canadians | Rebuilding Afghanistan

The one-year anniversary of the Afghanistan Compact comes at a time when progress is being achieved on many fronts, most notably in Afghanistan’s educational system. Since 2001 over five million children – 35% of them girls – have returned to school.

Reconstructing Haiti

Canada will contribute $10 million to Haiti’s National Police Reform Programme and Community Security Programme. Both projects will address ongoing security challenges in that country.

Asia-Pacific Gateway and Corridor Initiative

This new initiative announces concrete measures to strengthen Canada's competitive position in international commerce. "In today's global economy, a strong trade performance must include strong and growing ties with Asia".
