APPOINTMENTS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
CANADIAN COMMERCIAL CORPORATION
International Trade Minister Pierre Pettigrew today announced the appointments of Mr. Louis-Marie Beaulieu
and Ms. Amelia Salehabadi to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC).
Mr. Beaulieu is the majority owner, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe
Desgagnés Inc. and its subsidiaries. The firm operates mainly in the shipping field, both nationally and
internationally. Mr. Beaulieu sits on the board of directors of the Société immobilière du Québec and is a
member of the chambers of commerce of Rimouski and Sept-Îles, and of the Chamber of Maritime Commerce.
Since September 2000, he has also been the president of St. Lawrence Economic Development Council. He
has earned a number of honours, including that of chartered accountant emeritus 2000, bestowed by the
Regroupement des comptables agréés de Québec in May 2000.
Ms. Salehabadi works for the law firm Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Montreal as an associate and as co-chair
of the "International Infrastructure Projects" group. For over 11 years, Ms. Salehabadi has structured and
negotiated international projects for leading corporations such as Nationair Canada, Bell Canada International
Inc., Bombardier Inc. (Transportation Systems Division), and Hydro-Québec International. She also handled
legal affairs for the Bombardier/Power Railway joint venture in Qingdao, China, from 1998 to 2000.
The CCC is a Crown corporation that reports to Parliament through the Minister for International Trade. The
CCC supports the export efforts of Canadian companies by providing contracting expertise and performance
guarantees to foreign buyers. It is a valued member of Team Canada Inc.
