574902 CHINESE NEW YEAR IN VANCOUVER
About 50-thousand people jammed the streets of Canada's largest Chinatown district for the event. Every year, it's one of the highlights of the Asian community's celebrations in Vancouver. And it was this year as well, as people turned out to mark the beginning of the year of the boar. They say that everybody loves a parade! And, apparently, that includes our Vancouver reporter, Lorn Curry. He attended yesterday's festivities.

STEPHEN HARPER TRIES TO BALANCE DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN POLICY

September 25th, 2006 - Last Thursday, Canada’s prime minister told the General Assembly that its mission in Afghanistan was the U-N’s largest and special political mission. Stephen Harper also said it was Canada’s mission. He also called it the biggest test because the UN’s collective will and credibility are being judged. That is also true of the rest of Stephen Harper’s foreign policy. more »
