internationaux et administrations locales : Un guide pour les municipalités canadiennes</i></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif">sur Internet le samedi 4 juin à St. John’s, Terre-Neuve,</span><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif"> lors de la 68<sup>e</sup> Conférence
annuelle de la Fédération canadienne des municipalités (FCM)</span>. Ce guide, qui sera
posté dans le site Web de Commerce international Canada, aidera les municipalités à
mieux comprendre comment elles peuvent participer au commerce international.</p>

<p><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif">« La mondialisation permet aux collectivités de jouer un rôle de plus en plus important
dans les échanges commerciaux internationaux, a déclaré le ministre du Commerce
international, M. Jim Peterson. Elle fait aujourd’hui partie intégrante des échanges
commerciaux, et les municipalités qui s’y adaptent sont celles qui profiteront des
nombreux avantages et débouchés qu’elle offre. Ce guide constitue un outil unique et
novateur qui aidera les décideurs municipaux à comprendre comment les obligations
commerciales internationales du Canada peuvent avoir une incidence sur leurs
domaines de compétence », a-t-il ajouté.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif">Ce guide<span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif"> </span>a été préparé par Commerce international Canada à la demande de la FCM
et en collaboration avec celle-ci, pour aider les municipalités à s’y retrouver parmi toute
la gamme d’obligations commerciales internationales du Canada. En comprenant
mieux le commerce et la mondialisation, les municipalités seront plus aptes à collaborer
avec le gouvernement fédéral pour attirer davantage d’occasions d’affaires vers leur
collectivité.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif">En préparation depuis plus d’un an, le guide sur les accords commerciaux
internationaux est le fruit d’une coopération continue et efficace entre le gouvernement
fédéral et les administrations municipales. Cette coopération témoigne concrètement
de la détermination du Canada à intégrer les relations internationales fructueuses dans
un dialogue suivi avec toutes les parties impliquées, tel qu’articulé dans l’<i>Énoncé de
