<p><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 12pt">International Trade Minister Jim Peterson today announced the appointment of David
Unruh of Vancouver, British Columbia to the Board of Directors of Export Development
Canada (EDC). </span></span></p>
<br>
<p><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 12pt">“Mr. Unruh’s considerable legal and business experience will be a tremendous asset to
the Board of Directors of EDC,” said Minister Peterson. “I am sure that he will contribute
greatly to the continued success of EDC.” </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Mr. Unruh is currently a director of Westcoast Energy Inc. and Union Gas Limited, both
subsidiaries of Duke Energy Corporation. He is also a director of Ontario Power
Generation Inc., Pacific Northern Gas Ltd., Wawanesa Insurance and RAV Project
Management Ltd. </span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 12pt">After a 20-year career practising corporate law, Mr. Unruh became Senior Vice-
President, Law and Corporate Secretary for Westcoast Energy Inc. and later Vice-
Chairman of Duke Energy Gas Transmission (Canada).</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 12pt">He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manitoba
and is a member of the Manitoba and Canadian bar associations.</span></span></p>
