INDONESIA</span></span></p>

<p>Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew today issued the following statement concerning the
terrorist attacks that took place in Bali, Indonesia, this Saturday:</p>
<br>
<p>“Canada strongly condemns this terrorist act, and we are deeply troubled by such incidents. On
behalf of all Canadians, we extend our deepest sympathies to the victims and their families.</p>
<br>
<p>“Canada supports President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who has condemned the attacks and
indicated that he will use the full force of the law to bring to justice those responsible for these
atrocities.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>“While the details are still unfolding, this is clearly an act directed against innocent civilians. The
perpetrators must be found and brought to justice. Canada condemns all acts of terrorism and is
committed to working with Indonesia in the fight against international terrorism.</p>

<p>“The Canadian Embassy in Indonesia continues to work closely with Indonesian authorities to
determine whether any Canadians were affected and to offer assistance. Canadian consular
officials are in Bali and report that, so far, there are no Canadian casualties.”</p>
