Prior to joining the Public Service, Peter Lloyd worked as a journalist for major national print and television news organizations in Montr&eacute;al and Ottawa. He joined the Department of External Affairs in 1986 and has since served abroad in Port of Spain, as Head of Mission, and in New York. At headquarters he has served as Director General of the department&#8217;s Communications Bureau. Most recently, he completed a two-year secondment to the Canadian International Development Agency. He is married to Geri Horsford. They have a daughter, Anna Jean, and a son, Evan. Peter Lloyd succeeds Jeffrey Parker.</span></span></p> <br> <p><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif"><span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-weight: bold">James Wall</span> (BA Honours, Carleton University, 1968; LLB, University of Ottawa, 1973) joined the Department of External Affairs in 1976 and has since served abroad in New Delhi, Jakarta, Nairobi and, from 1999 to 2002, in Harare as High Commissioner to Zimbabwe with concurrent accreditation to Mozambique, Botswana and Angola. In Ottawa, he undertook several assignments in the Legal Bureau, serving as the Director of the Economic and Trade Law Division from 1990 to 1992. From 1996 to 1997, he was Director of the Information and Technology Trade Policy Division. In 1997 and 1998 he was Director General of the International and Economic Issues Directorate at Environment Canada. Most recently, Mr. Wall has served as Canada&#8217;s High Commissioner to Kenya (with concurrent accreditation to Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Eritrea and Somalia) as well as Permanent Representative to the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements and to the United Nations Environment Programme. He is married to Heather Galley and they have a son, Jake. James Wall succeeds Colleen Swords.</span></span></p> <br> </body> </html>
