Consulate General of Canada welcomes new Consul General Peter Lloyd

Seattle, WA, November 20, 2006 – Peter Lloyd has been named Consul General in Seattle.  He began duty today following the announcement by Peter MacKay, Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister, of his appointment to lead Canada’s diplomatic mission in the Pacific Northwest.

“The strength, vitality and importance of the Canada-US relationship is particularly evident in the Pacific Northwest with linkages in energy, water, border issues and trade, all supported by a tradition of friendship, family ties and cooperation,” said Consul General Lloyd.  “I am honoured to have this opportunity to build on these strengths and work with legislators, business and community leaders towards increased North American security, prosperity and partnership.”
