MEDIA ACCREDITATION FOR AIRPORT ARRIVAL OF
CHINESE PRESIDENT HU JINTAO IN VANCOUVER
Chinese President Hu Jintao will arrive at the Vancouver International Airport on Friday,
September 16, 2005.
Media representatives who wish to cover the event must contact Media Relations at
Foreign Affairs Canada at (613) 995-1874 by 5:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, September
15, 2005 and leave their name, agency and phone number, specifying that their
accreditation request is for the airport arrival. You will then be contacted by Pamela
Greenwell to confirm your participation, and will be given information on where to obtain
your airport pass.
Note that there are a limited number of spaces available to the media and that no more
than two members from an agency (one camera/photographer and one reporter) will be
allowed at the airport. If demand exceeds the spaces available, media may be
restricted to one camera/photographer per agency only. There will be no access for
satellite or microwave vehicles to cover the event airside.
Confirmed media are requested to present themselves at the airport with the following
accreditation criteria:
1. Present media accreditation from the National Press Gallery or any provincial
legislature, along with one piece of photo identification.
2. In the absence of suitable gallery accreditation, an assignment letter from the
responsible editor at the media outlet must be faxed to the Media Relations Office of
Foreign Affairs Canada at (613) 992-2603 by 5:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday,
September 15. Only applications from known media outlets as listed in commercial
media directories will be accepted.
Media are required to present one piece of photo identification at the registration.
