Please note that fees in Cuban Convertible Pesos (CUC) are subject to change at any time due to fluctuations in the exchange rate. There are 3 ways to pay fees for immigration and visa services: - in Cuban Convertible Pesos (CUC) at three branches of Banco Metropolitano in Havana. The bank charges the applicant a $1.00 CUC fee for this service. Two Bank receipts must be presented at the time of your application to the Visa Office at the Canadian Embassy in Havana;
- in Canadian dollars in cash at the Immigration Receptionist window. Only the exact fee is accepted as the cashier cannot give change;
- in Canadian dollars by a certified cheque or money order made payable to the Receiver General for Canada drawn on a bank in Canada.

Have you applied to become a permanent resident of Canada? You may be entitled to a refund. On May 2, 2006, the Government of Canada announced a significant reduction in the $975 Right of Permanent Residence Fee. You may be entitled to a refund. You are eligible for a refund if you paid the Right of Permanent Residence Fee before 12:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Saving Time on May 3, 2006, and you have not yet become a permanent resident of Canada. If you are eligible to have a refund issued at the Canadian Embassy in Havana, Cuba, send a written request stating clearly your name, date of birth and file number. Refunds at the Canadian Embassy in Havana can only be issued in cash, in Cuban convertible pesos, and must be collected in person by the principal visa applicant.
