Work Permit applications should be received at least 6 weeks before the expected day of departure. The Embassy of Canada cannot provide information about job opportunities in Canada. As a general rule, persons who intend to work temporarily in Canada must have a job offer and then apply for a work permit before entering Canada. For more information, click here To apply for a Work Permit, you will need to submit the following: - A formal job offer confirmed by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC), if applicable.
- Official application form, duly completed and signed.
- Certificates of studies.
- Signed and sealed letter from employer in Cuba, if applicable.
- Letters of reference from present and past employers.
- Contract signed between the employer and the applicant.
- Curriculum vitae.
- A passport valid for at least 12 months.
- Two recent passport-size photos (with your name written on the back).
- Fee payment at Banco Metropolitano.
- Medical examinations, if applicable.
- If you intend to study in the Province of Québec, you should obtain a Certificat d'acceptation du Québec from the Service d'immigration du Québec:
