MINISTER MACKAY TO LAUNCH BON VOYAGE, BUT...
Foreign Affairs Minister and Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency Peter
MacKay will officially launch the new edition of Bon Voyage, But... at a light luncheon
for media on Thursday, June 1, 2006. Bon Voyage, But... is an official publication of
Foreign Affairs Canada. It provides important advice for Canadian travellers on
preventing problems while abroad and on obtaining consular assistance should
difficulties arise. The publication is also available at http://www.voyage.gc.ca.
This official launch is also an occasion to invite the media to work with the department
to communicate its message on safe travel to Canadians who go abroad and to alert
them to the upcoming hurricane season.
The launch will be followed by a technical briefing with Canadian consular officials and
a tour of the Emergency Operations Centre.
Media representatives are asked to confirm their attendance with the Media Relations
Office at (613) 995-1874. Media representatives may also participate via teleconference
(North American dial-in number: 1 888 265-0464; international dial-in number:
