In meetings with regional leaders, the Minister will focus on the situation in the Middle East and bilateral relations. In Jordan, Mr. Manley will be officially inaugurating the Canadian-funded Regional Human Security Centre in Amman prior to participating in the Human Security Network Ministerial Meeting in Petra, hosted by the Jordanian government, with representatives from Austria, Chile, Greece, Ireland, Mali, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, South Africa, Switzerland and Thailand.</font></p> <p><font size="-1">Mr. Manley will visit Egypt on May 7 and 8, where he will meet with Foreign Minister Amre Moussa, President Hosni Mubarak and Prime Minister Atef Ebeid. </font></p> <p><font size="-1">On May 9, he will meet with Palestinian Minister for International Co-operation Nabil Shaath and Chairman Yasser Arafat in Gaza City and tour the Al Wafa Medical Rehabilitation Hospital, an institution which has received funding from the Canadian International Development Agency. </font></p> <p><font size="-1">On May 10, in Amman, Jordan, Minister Manley will meet with Foreign Minister Abdul Ilah Khatib. The two will then participate in a plaque-unveiling ceremony marking the official inauguration of the Regional Human Security Centre, which has received Canadian support. Minister Manley will also tour the facility, present the Centre with a gift of Canadian art and sign a letter of intent to provide continued Canadian funding for this initiative.</font></p> <p><font size="-1">On May 11 and 12, Minister Manley will participate in the Ministerial Meeting of the Human Security Network (HSN) in Petra, Jordan. The themes of the meeting will be peace support operations, the link between human security and human development, and children and human security. On the first day of the meeting, the Minister will officially launch the HSN Web site. On the second day, Mr. Manley will participate in the closing news conference. </font></p> <p><font size="-1">On May 13, Minister Manley will be in Jerusalem, where he will meet with Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon&nbsp;Peres and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. He will also participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at Yad Vashem, visit <ins>f</ins>ormer Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's grave and tour the new Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.</font></p>
