<p>John Manley, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will be in Rome, Italy on July 18 and 19, to participate
in the G-8 Foreign Ministers meeting. Minister Manley will be in Hanoi, Vietnam, July 24 to 27,
to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Forum Meeting and
Post-Ministerial Conference. Dr. Rey Pagtakhan, Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific), will join
Minister Manley in Hanoi. </p>
<p>Issues on the agenda for the G-8 Foreign Ministers meeting include non-proliferation, arms
control and disarmament, conflict prevention and counter-terrorism. G-8 Foreign Ministers will
also discuss regional issues of international concern, such as the Balkans, Africa and the Middle
East.</p>
<p>The ASEAN Regional Forum <font face="Arial">is the premier multilateral forum in the Asia-Pacific region
dealing with peace and security issues. The Post-Ministerial Conference, held after the
ASEAN meeting each year, provides the opportunity for exchanges on regional and
global concerns, such as Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC), international
trade, human rights and regional security.</font></p>
