<html> <head> <meta name="Generator" content="Corel WordPerfect 8"> <title>PAGTAKHAN TO OPEN JADE EXHIBIT IN WINNIPEG</title> </head> <body text="#000000" link="#0000ff" vlink="#551a8b" alink="#ff0000" bgcolor="#c0c0c0"> <p><font size="-1"></font><font size="-1">Media representatives are advised that Dr. Rey Pagtakhan, Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific), will officially open the exhibition <em>Jade, The Ultimate Treasure of Ancient China</em> at the Winnipeg Art Gallery on Thursday, September 6, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. Media representatives are welcome to attend.</font></p> <p><font size="-1">Organized by the Canadian Foundation for the Preservation of Chinese Cultural and Historical Treasures and the China Cultural Relics Co-ordination Centre, this is one of the first exhibits to receive aid from the Government of Canada's Travelling Exhibitions Indemnification Program. The program guarantees travelling exhibits against any loss or damage. </font></p> <p><font size="-1">The exhibit presents 120 national treasures from China, many of which have never been seen outside China. The showpiece of the collection is a jade burial garment dating back to the 2nd century B.C.
