MANLEY - VISIT TO NEW YORK
John Manley, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that he will be visiting New York City from November 2 to 5, 2001, to tour "Ground
Zero" and to give a speech to the Foreign Policy Association on Canada's response to terrorism at home and internationally.
While in New York, Mr. Manley will run the 32nd Annual New York City Marathon, which will proceed under the theme "United We Run." This
year's race, hosting 30 000 athletes, with the assistance of 12 000 volunteers, is dedicated to the victims of the tragic events of Tuesday, September
11, and to the courageous and determined rescue workers. The Minister will host a pre-marathon reception for Canadian participants. He will also
participate in the International Friendship Run where he will carry the Canadian flag.
