<p>John Manley, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee of Ministers on Public Security and
Anti-Terrorism, will welcome Tom Ridge, United States Director of Homeland Security, to Ottawa on December 11, 2001. </p>
<p>The former Governor of Pennsylvania was appointed to the Office of Homeland Security to help in the coordination of U.S.
President Bush's domestic anti-terrorism campaign following the events of September 11. </p>
<p>At Minister Manley's invitation, Mr. Ridge will be making his first trip to Canada since his appointment.</p>
