APEC 2006 Summit in Vietnam: Canada's priorities
APEC's 21 members will meet in Vietnam from 12 to 19 November, 2006. Canada's APEC priorities for 2006 are to advance key Canadian trade policy interests, to enhance security in the Asia-Pacific region, and to promote private sector development in Asia-Pacific.
World first - Transportation of nuclear submarines on a heavy lift ship:
Canada and Russia recently completed a world first in transporting fuelled nuclear submarines as dry cargo on the deck of a specialized heavy lift ship.

Protecting the Kamchatka peninsula
The Kamchatka peninsula is one of the world's last remaining extensive natural areas holding globally significant biodiversity. With the Kamchatka Protected Areas Management project, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) will contribute to securing the global benefits of conserving biodiversity in all the protected areas of the Kamchatka Oblast.
