Applicants in the northwestern region of Russia may obtain Temporary
Resident Visas, Work or Study Visas from
our
Consulate in St. Petersburg.
Tel: +7 (495) 105-6070 – This is an automated system that provides information about office hours, application fees and visa application
procedures. Persons needing to speak personally to Visa and Immigration Section staff during office hours can phone the main
Embassy switchboard at +7 (495) 105-6000 and ask for the person or extension they need to contact. We do not have the staff
resources to answer every telephone call in person and would therefore suggest that whenever possible alternate means such as
email or fax be used to contact us.
Fax: +7 (495) 105-6090 – if this line is busy, the back-up line is 105-6092.
Email is our preferred means of communicating with our clients. It allows us to deliver consistent client service in an efficient manner.
There are security and privacy issues involved in using email, which are described below, which we would ask clients to review carefully
before giving their consent to email communication. All emails will receive an automatic acknowledgment of receipt response and will
receive a substantive response from our staff within our present service standard of 21 days. It is our expectation that almost all
emails will receive a response well before the 21 day limit of our service standard.
If your enquiry relates to a visa application in progress, please ensure that your message includes the file number and the name and
date of birth of the principal applicant named in the application. If you are not the principal applicant on the file please ensure that we
have an authorization signed by the principal applicant to release information about the file.
When communicating with
our office, include all your questions in a single message. In order to serve
all clients better, we are not able to reply to multiple messages from the same
client.
To minimize the possibility of failure of email delivery we would suggest that you place our email address in your email addresses list.
We have three email addresses which you can use to contact us for information:
mosco-immigration@international.gc.ca – for information about immigrating to Canada; for information about immigration applications
in process; and to make suggestions and comments about our website
mosco.visitor@international.gc.ca – for information about applications for
visiting, studying or working temporarily in Canada
mosco.refugees@international.gc.ca – for information about our refugee
program or information about refugee category applications being processed in Moscow
Please note that there is no ‘w’ or ‘u’ after ‘mosco’ in our email address – if you add ‘w’ or ‘u’ to make it ‘moscow’ or ‘moscou’
the message will not get to us. The address must be typed exactly as shown above.
The Small Print - Things to keep in mind when using email
By supplying your email address (in your enquiry or previously in your application), you are initiating an email communication with
CIC, and CIC is thereby authorized to use the email address provided by you for communication with you including the transmission
of personal information on your file/case. When you supply your email address to CIC, it is also understood that you are aware that
this channel may not be a secure channel. CIC is not liable for the disclosure of personal information to a third party where CIC has
taken reasonable means to ensure the identity of the party. CIC is also not liable for the misuse of this information by a third
party.

Protect your personal information
Clients should be careful to protect their file number, FOSS client ID number, date of birth and all other personal identification
information. As these personal identifiers may allow clients to receive information about their files from CIC via email, clients should
not share this information with unauthorized third parties.
Important
Everyday, we receive many emails. To limit the number of enquires so as to give the best service possible to our clients, before sending
us your email enquiry, please ensure:
- that the information you are looking for is not on our website or on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website
www.cic.gc.ca
- Your application is within the processing periods mentioned on
Processing Times and Procedures and
therefore you do not need to send an enquiry
- You have checked the information in the
FAQ’s - Frequently Asked Questions section of our website and other appropriate
pages
We ask that you please do not send multiple copies of the same enquiry. Multiple enquiries delay our reply, since the file is retrieved
at each enquiry and placed in sequence as if it were a new enquiry.
