ENVIRONMENTAL BLACK EYE CLEANSED – The Marwell tar pit is finally getting cleaned up. Its existence dates back to the late 1940s, when the short-lived Canol refinery was sold and dismantled. Sludge from the old storage tanks was dumped in the area off Industrial Road below the clay cliffs.

Reduced visibility due to deteriorating weather caused a fatal plane crash near Faro in 2017, the Yukon Coroner’s Office has concluded.
