Since 1989, millions of Canadians have marked the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This year, March 21st has a special significance as the international community has chosen 2007 to commemorate the Bicentenary of the Act for the Abolition of the Slave Trade. On this occasion, the Governor General invites you to pursue a dialogue around abolition and the elimination of racial discrimination and to express your views on the best strategies to eradicate racism.
