APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE ASIA PACIFIC FOUNDATION OF CANADA



The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, today announced the appointment of Carol Anne Lee to the Board of Directors of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada.


“I am pleased to welcome Ms. Lee to the Foundation’s Board,” said Minister MacKay. “She has extensive business experience in Canadian and Asian interests, and has been very involved in her community as well.”


The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada is an independent, not-for-profit think tank on Canada’s relations with Asia. The Foundation functions as a knowledge broker, bringing together people and knowledge to provide the most current and comprehensive research, analysis and information on Canada’s trans-Pacific relations. It promotes dialogue on economic, security, political and social issues, helping to influence public policy and foster informed decision making in the Canadian public, private and non-governmental sectors.


Created in 1984 by an act of Parliament, the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada is funded by the Government of Canada and the Government of British Columbia.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE


Carol Ann Lee, a native of Vancouver, is CEO and President of Linacare Cosmetherapy Inc., a British Columbia-based company that develops innovative skin care products. Ms. Lee has a B.Comm from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is Vice Chair of the Government of British Columbia’s Asia Pacific Trade Council and serves on several boards, including the Vancouver Board of Trade and the Faculty Advisory Board of the Sauder School of Business.
