<p align="CENTER"><font size="+1"><strong>PARADIS EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES ON DEATH OF ANDRÉ CAILLOUX</strong></font></p>
<p>Denis Paradis, Secretary of State for Latin America, Africa and La Francophonie, issued the following condolence message
upon learning of the death of André Cailloux, a great ambassador for the French language and a prominent resident of
Magog, in the riding of Brome-Missisquoi.</p>
<p>"I was greatly saddened to learn that performer, author and host André Cailloux had passed away. I had the privilege of
meeting Mr. Cailloux several times. He was an extraordinary man, one of the architects of French-language television for
children. Generations of young people grew up with the amiable Grand-Père Cailloux. Mr. Cailloux was a man of the stage,
but also a man of the arts, who witnessed the birth of our children's literature and worked in the field for more than 30
years. He was, in my eyes, a wonderful ambassador for the French language. In 1999, he was made a Knight of the Ordre de
la Pléiade, a prestigious international distinction, by the International Association of French-speaking parliamentarians.</p>
<p>"I would like to extend my most sincere condolences to the family and numerous friends of André Cailloux."</p>
