Every year, more than 35 million people visit Canada. Canada welcomes these visitors as tourists, students or temporary workers. The Beirut office processes applications for temporary resident visa (visitor visa), study permit, work permit, and travel document for Canadian permanent residents. For immigration applications, applicants must contact the immigration section of the Canadian Embassy in Damascus, Syria.

Lebanese citizens require a visa in order to enter Canada as visitors. Any person who wishes to apply for a visa to visit Canada must carefully complete the appropriate application form for a TRV (temporary resident visa), sign and date the application.

Opening hours

The visa section of the Canadian Embassy in Beirut is open to the public from Monday to Thursday, as follows:

  • from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., by appointment only
  • from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., for general inquiries and submission of additional documents.

Please note that the processing of visitor visa applications takes 10 working days.

Please note that all immigration applications are processed by the regional office in Damascus, and not by the Beirut office.

Before communicating with us by electronic mail, please read the instructions for sending an e-mail enquiry.

Representatives: Is it necessary to have a representative? Who can represent me?

In some cases, individuals who wish to come to, or stay in, Canada have a representative provide them with additional support or advice. Remember that you are not obliged to hire a representative for immigration and refugee matters. The Government of Canada treats everyone equally, whether they use the services of a representative or not.

There are two types of representatives: paid and unpaid. Find out more information about paid and unpaid representatives.
