He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick and sworn in as Minister of Finance in 1999. In 2001, Dr. Betts became Minister of Business New Brunswick and Minister responsible for Service New Brunswick; he has also held a number of other ministerial responsibilities. Dr. Betts is Chairman of the Board of Minacs Worldwide Inc. and also sits on the board of directors of a number of high-profile Canadian companies, including New Brunswick Power Corporation and Tembec Inc. </span></span></p> <br> <p><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 12pt">Dr. Betts&#8217; appointment to the EDC Board of Directors is for a three-year term.</span></span></p> <br> <p><span style="font-family: 'Arial', sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 12pt">EDC is Canada&#8217;s export credit agency, offering innovative commercial solutions to help Canadian exporters and investors expand their international business.
