<p>Foreign Affairs Canada urges Canadians to contact the Emergency Operations Centre
in order to gather as much information as possible on Canadians currently in the areas
affected by the tsunamis.</p>

<p>The Emergency Operations Centre helps Canadians trying to reach relatives or friends
in the affected areas. Agents of the Emergency Operations Centre can be reached in
Ottawa at (613) 944-2471, or toll-free from elsewhere in Canada at 1 800 606-5499.
Canadians in the affected areas who wish to report on their safety should immediately
contact the nearest consular office.</p>
