Status Reports
A status report contains the best-available information on the basic biology of a wildlife species. This includes information on population sizes and trends, distribution in Canada, and habitat availability. Commissioned by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC) through an open competition process, status reports form the basis for a species assessment and status designation.
