Toulnustouc Hydroelectric Facility

Québec

Description: Hydro-Québec has submitted a proposal to construct a 526 MW hydro-electric complex on the Toulnustouc River, in the northeastern part of the province.

Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On November 22, 2001, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister has determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. The project has been referred back to the responsible authority, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, for appropriate action.
