Saint John Lateral Pipeline

New Brunswick

Description: Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline Management Ltd. has submitted a proposal to construct a lateral pipeline to transport natural gas from its main transmission pipeline, south of Big Kedron Lake, to customers in Lake Utopia and Saint John, in the southern part of the province.

Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On October 6, 1999, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister concluded that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and referred the project back to the responsible authorities for appropriate next steps.
