NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT

of an environmental assessment

Upgrading of the Elora well system.

Elora (ON)

April 7, 2005 -- Industry Canada will conduct a comprehensive study commencing on April 5, 2005 of the project: Upgrading of the Elora well system..

Major works include: ∙ the construction of a new well, number E4, and pumphouse to replace well E2; ∙ construction of a 1275 m transmission watermain to connect the new pumphouse to the Elora distribution system; and ∙ decommission and properly abandon well E2.

Under section 5 of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, an EA is required for this project because Industry Canada may provide financial assistance to the proponent for the purpose of enabling the project.

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency will act as the Federal Environmental Assessment Coordinator for this environmental assessment.
