Walk A Block for Lupus | October 2007
Come and join this annual walk and help support lupus.

Last year in October 2006, through the work of outstanding volunteers and dedicated walkers, together we raised over $135,000 to help support the work of Lupus Canada and local lupus organizations across Canada.

This year, we hope to make the Walk A Block an even more successful event, and we want you to join us.

How you can help:

• Become a Team Leader and start your own Walk in your community. We have resources and tools to help you plan the event from picking the location, getting media attention, finding local sponsors, and ways to make your Walk an entertaining and successful event for everyone involved.
• Join a local Walk – contact us to learn more about Walks happening in your area.
• Support a Walker and help them reach their fundraising goals. Your donation is greatly appreciated.
• Be a sponsor for a Walk – would your company like to be a sponsor or donate an item for a prize or silent auction. Show your community that your company cares about lupus.
• Volunteer with the planning of a Walk or join on the day of the Walk – help with registration, be a Walk route coordinator, donate whatever skills and talents you have to make the Walk a great event for all participants

Lupus impacts over 50,000 Canadians, with the majority being young women in their childbearing years. But younger people and older people are being diagnosed with lupus. Lupus really is the Disease of a Thousand Faces.
