NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT

of an environmental assessment

Upgrading of the Mitchell well supply

Mitchell (ON)

November 25, 2004 -- Industry Canada will conduct a comprehensive study commencing on November 24, 2004 of the project: Upgrading of the Mitchell well supply.

Major works to include: ∙ construction of a new well complete with treatment and pumping facilities; and ∙ installation of a chlorine contact watermain and connection to the existing distribution system

Under section 5 of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, an EA is required for this project because Industry Canada may provide financial assistance to the proponent for the purpose of enabling the project.

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency will act as the Federal Environmental Assessment Coordinator for this environmental assessment.
