About this Bibliography

This bibliography attempts to provide the user with an extensive, up-to-date listing of cumulative effects (CE) and cumulative effects assessment (CEA) literature. It also hopes to guide the user through the literature, in order to identify literature most relevant to the user's interest area. The literature is categorized into sections--Concepts and Theoretical issues, Research Programmes/Agendas and Information Sources, Legal Issues/ Institutional Analysis/ Policy, Methodology, Specific Type of Environment or Environmental Effect, Sectors, and Locations. Sections are subdivided into more specific categories as appropriate. The references provided are cross-referenced between sections.

The annotation is intended to provide a description of the document, in order to give more information to the reader on whether the document may be relevant to the reader's needs. It is not intended as a subjective evaluation of the merits or usefulness of the work. References which are not annotated, were not obtained and summarized by the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency.
