NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT

of an environmental assessment

Construct Pull-off Sites

Churchill Falls; Labrador City (NL)

July 6, 2005 -- The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency will conduct a screening commencing on July 6, 2005 of the project: Construct Pull-off Sites.

The proponent proposes to develop a series of four pull-off sites with walking trails, picnic tables and interpretive signage along the Trans Labrador Highway between Labrador City and Churchill Falls, NL.

Under section 5 of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, an EA is required for this project because the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency may provide financial assistance to the proponent for the purpose of enabling the project.
