Construction of Interpretation Centre

The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency will conduct a screening commencing on July 21, 2006 of the project:
Construction of Interpretation Centre.
The proponent proposes to develop an Interpretation Centre adjacent to the Burnt Cape Ecological Reserve in Raleigh, NL. The development will include the construction of a 6,000 square foot building that will accommodate an exhibit hall, reception foyer, botanical lab, discovery room, offices, and rest rooms. The landscape design for the Centre includes a perimeter walking trail, rest areas, interpretation nodes, parking and an entrance promenade.
Under section 5 of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, an EA is required for this project because the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency may provide financial assistance to the proponent for the purpose of enabling the project.
