NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT

of an environmental assessment

Upgrade Water Supply System

River of Ponds (NL)

March 8, 2007 -- The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency will conduct a screening commencing on March 8, 2007 of the project: Upgrade Water Supply System.

The proponent proposes to improve the existing water supply system to 64 residential properties in the community of River of Ponds, NL. Upgrades to the system include installation of 2300 meters of watermain.

Under section 5 of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, an EA is required for this project because the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency may provide financial assistance to the proponent for the purpose of enabling the project.
