of an environmental assessment

APPROXIMATELY 150 CUBIC METERS OF ROCK AND GRAVEL FROM THE IN FRONT OF SLIPWAYS AT SALLY'S COVE

Sally's Cove (NL)

March 30, 2004 -- Fisheries and Oceans Canada will conduct a screening commencing on March 26, 2004 of the project: APPROXIMATELY 150 CUBIC METERS OF ROCK AND GRAVEL FROM THE IN FRONT OF SLIPWAYS AT SALLY'S COVE .

APROXIMATELY 150 METERS OF ROCK AND GRAVEL WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE FRONT OF THE SLIPWAYS AT SALLY'S COVE TO ALLOW FISHERS TO HAVE ACCESS TO FISHING GROUNDS. Approximately 150 cubic meters of rock and gravel will be removed from the front of the slipways at Sally's Cove to allow fishers access to the fishing grounds.

Under section 5 of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, an EA is required for this project because Fisheries and Oceans Canada may provide financial assistance to the proponent for the purpose of enabling the project.
