NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT

Shamattawa Waste Water Treatment Plant Expansion and Associated Works

Shamattawa 1 (MB)

July 18, 2006 -- Indian and Northern Affairs Canada will conduct a screening commencing on July 18, 2006 of the project: Shamattawa Waste Water Treatment Plant Expansion and Associated Works.

Expansion of the existing waste water treatment plant including conversion of the existing primary lagoon cell to a sludge holding cell, and decommissioning of the remaining lagoon cells.

Under section 5 of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, an EA is required for this project because Indian and Northern Affairs Canada may provide financial assistance to the proponent for the purpose of enabling the project.
