Tetsa River Bridge at Km 587.3 of the Alaska Highway (BC)

Public Works and Government Services Canada will conduct a screening commencing on April 23, 2004 of the project:
Replacement of the Tetsa River Bridge at Km 587.3 of the Alaska Highway.
Replace the existing Tetsa River Bridge at Km 587.3 with a new bridge that meets the design standards of the Alaska Highway British Columbia Program and a 75-year design service life; this project includes the demolition, removal and recycling of the existing bridge at that location, design and construction of a portion of the approach road on either side of the crossing and restoration of the project site following completion. The planned construction period will extend over 18 months.
Under section 5 of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, an EA is required for this project because Public Works and Government Services Canada may provide financial assistance to the proponent for the purpose of enabling the project and is the proponent for the project.
