DECISION

April 10, 2007 -- Environment Canada has completed the screening of the The reproductive ecology of waterfowl breeding in the Mackenzie Valley, NWT. and on April 5, 2007 determined to take the following course of action. The authority may exercise any power or perform any duty or function with respect to the project because, after having considered the screening report, the authority is of the opinion that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

As detailed in the environmental assessment report, mitigation measures have been required for the project to address birds and/or their habitat.

A follow-up program for this project was not considered appropriate. Circumstances where a follow-up program would typically be warranted are outlined in the Agency's Operational Policy Statement on Follow-up.
