Newfoundland Transshipment Terminal

Description: Mobil Oil Canada Properties, Chevron Canada Resources Ltd. and Petro-Canada submitted a proposal to construct and operate an oil transshipment terminal at Whiffen Head in Placentia Bay.

Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On December 20, 1996, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister concluded that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and referred the project
