Responsible for:

Development and support of Departmental IT infrastructure, including computers, printers and network devices.
Development and support of over 40 custom-developed systems for both the Department as well as the Health and Community Services sector Province-wide. Major systems include the:
Client and Referral Management System (CRMS). This system is used by over 200 workers in regional Health and Community Services Boards to support client service delivery.
Medical Claims Processing system: this system helps process payments to physicians, primarily to those paid on a fee-for-service basis.
Funding and Monitoring system: this system helps manage funding for regional boards.
Coordination/facilitation of Information Technology throughout the Healthcare system. For example, where appropriate, the Department will work with regional boards to manage the implementation of a new system or technology.
Ensuring Departmental information and records are properly managed and coordinated, and applicable standards are used.
Providing research and library services to Departmental and Regional Boards staff through the Resource Centre.
