Disc-O-Logue: Music for the eyes!

Spanning the mid-50’s to the mid-80’s and covering many musical genres, the following set of album covers depicts a rich cross-section of Canada’s French-language heritage of musical sound recordings. They are reproduced with the permission of the record companies noted.

These covers are found in the Recorded Sound and Video Collection of the National Library of Canada. The National Library’s catalogue of CDs, LPs, and cassettes can be searched using ResAnet, an automated catalogue of the National Library’s holdings available via the Internet and also accessible at many public libraries. The recordings can be consulted by making an appointment with the Music Division of the National Library of Canada.
