Biographies

Canadian women have contributed to Canada's musical heritage as performers, composers or songwriters and to Canada's literary heritage as writers and poets. Biographies have also been included for a selection of lesser known women from across the country who through their strength, courage and determination have made significant contributions to the development of Canadian life and society. With a few exceptions, these "pioneers" were all born before 1900.

Also included are two selective bibliographies, focusing on Canadian Women's History and Canadian Women in Music.
